Social Media! :)

This semester I learned a lot about the web that I didn't know before. Meez was probably my favorite thing we explored. There are so many different rooms and accessories to choose from. Google was really cool also. I had no idea Google had so many tools to use and explore. I will use a lot of they Google tools we explored. The firefox add-ons was so much fun to explore. There are so many tools and other websites to explore. I really liked the personas because it made my firefox explorer look really fun and creative. Social Media was so much fun and educational at the same time. I learned so much more about all the tools the web has to offer. I'm really glad I decided to take this class it was without a doubt a great time. I can now use the web more efficiently! Also I found out new and different ways to do projects and search for information. This class made it easier to find information for school and other activities on the internet. Thank you Mrs. James for everything you taught us this semester!!!!!!:)

Internet Safety!

While enjoying the web it is also a  good idea to think about how safe it really is. Many people don't realize that all because someone's profile says they are a 15 year old girl doesn't really mean they are that could be some creeper trying to talk to young girls. Imagination Cubed

This is a picture Emilie and I drew together on imagination cubed. This site is so much fun, you and your friends can all draw a picture together. There are many tools to use and you can change the drawing style. Also there are many different colors and shapes to choose from. There is also a stamper that is really cool to use.

Firefox Add-ons

Firefox Add-ons have some great features that can make using the internet a lot more easier. Like instead of having to go to youtube someone could just add it to their firefox toolbar and with one click find the video they want to see.  Picnik is an add on that lets you edit and add things to your pictures. Also I added the I Am Bored button it takes you to different sites with articles and you can either dislike or like the articles. 

Google Doc

Google Docs makes writing a paper from home so much easier. I use to have to write papers only at school because I couldn't get the paper to open at home. With Google Docs you can also share a document with someone else and they can edit and change things while your on it still.  Google Docs works with pages, Microsoft word, and excel. This tool makes homework so much easier to get done. If someone didn't have Microsoft word or pages they could just use Google Docs and they can get there paper written, edited, and be ready to turn it in without having to hurry to finish it at school.

Tinychat and Favicon

Tinychat is where you can video chat and regular chat with many people all at once. Its your very own chat room and anyone can join. In tinychat you have your very own page and can update your status and other cool activities. Also with tinychat you can have multiple video chats with many different people all at once. This tool is really fun and I can see myself using it a lot.

Favicon is a website that allows someone to personalize an icon next to the URL. The website Favicon stands for Favorite Icon it has many icons to choose from. Also you can make your own or find a picture off the internet. Some icons are animated which adds a very nice effect next to the URL.

Domain!

GoDaddy.com is a place where someone can create a domain name. A domain is good if someone wants to make it easy for other people to get to their blog or website. It also helps them remember the website because its not a long name its short and sweet and people can remember it. Someone can use .com .net .bis or .org to create a domain. GoDaddy great to use if someone has already used the name it will give you available options.

Google Fast Flip

Google Fast Flip is a new way to get the latest news. Someone searches a topic and any news paper or magazine that has done a article on the topic comes up. It gives that person only the news of the topic someone searched. There is an option if someone wanted to view the whole story they could or search related topics and stories. This tool is open to anyone on the internet at anytime. There are millions on topics to search for. If someone is looking for celebrity gossip or to catch up on the news of the world  or just the United States they can find it.

Personas

Using personas is a great way to personalize a Firefox toolbar. There is many themes to choose from for every different personality. Also there are animated, holiday, and other special themes to choose from. Unfortunately personas can only be used on Firefox and not on any other web browser. iGoogle Gadgets

On my iGoogle homepage I added a monkey gadget, a hamster gadget, a tiger gadget, a panda bear gadget, a dog gadget, and a turtle gadget. I also added my horoscope and tetris to my iGoogle homepage. iGoogle had many gadgets to choose from including music, video, games, famous quotes, and many more. I think that iGoogle is a great place to use and find new gadgets everyone should check it out.

Blogger Gadget

On my blogger I can add lots of really cool gadgets. One of the gadgets I add were fish I can feed them and they follow my mouse. Other gadgets that someone could add were quotes from people and pictures. Games were also available to add to someones blogger.

Histats!

Histats is a counter for a blog. They have lots of different options of counters there are animated ones and they also come in different colors. Histats counts how many visitors visit a blog. Also Histats shows where in the country people have visited a blog and how many from that place have look at the blog.  Scroll down and on the right check out my counter.

Stats

On stats I can see who has looked at my blog. I have had people from Mexico, Russia, and the U.S. The stats gadget is pretty cool, I like seeing who has visited my blog and how many people go to it each day.  It also shows how many people each day look at my blog. It tracks it by the where the person is when they go to it. I think it is very interesting and I will absolutely check this gadget daily.

Diigo

Diigo is a social bookmarking site. This site has a lot of really cool tools. There is a sticky post feature where someone could put a note on a website for someone else to read and it could help them while they are exploring the website.

Wordle

Wordle is a great site to make fun and creative word projects. In wordle if someone wants a word to stand out that person would just have to type that word a lot, so that it is bigger than all the other words. Wordle also has many different colors and directions the words can be in.  Tagxedo  is also a really fun site! It as many shapes that it puts the word in and the word pops out when the mouse moves over it. I had a lot of fun creating word clouds!

E-Trade Baby Talking Message

The E-Trade Baby is a fun site to visit. On E-Trade Baby you can record your own voice or use the one they have for you. Also you have the choice of any baby or uploading your own picture. If you do not like the background they have you can also change the background. I really enjoyed using the E-Trade Baby talking message it is something I would spend hours using.

Delicious

1. You can access delicious from any computer so you will always have those bookmarks.
2. You can use delicious to find other websites that you may need for a subject.
3. Delicious tools also help if you are already at the website all you have to do is click add to delicious and it does it automatically.
4. Delicious also organizes your bookmarks to make it easier to find them.
5. Delicious makes saving and finding your bookmarks so much better.

Delicious is a website I would absolutely use. I can see myself using it for projects and assignments for school.

Meez!!

Meez is a fun and different twist on the average avatar. This website has lots of options and tools to choose from. You can choose all types of clothing, hairstyles, make-up,shoes and even facial features.  The weakness of this site is that you have to pay for some of the tools you use, but I still think this site is fun. After making your meez avatar you can even put in a background. The Meez website is amazing I had so much fun with it.

Voki!!

A voki avatar is a talking avatar. A avatar is used to express yourself online. Also you can use an avatar to protect yourself online if you don't want anyone to know what you look like you can use an avatar. On the voki site you can change the color of the hair, eyes, mouth, and skin tone. The site also lets you choose from different animals and symbols. The voki site is lots of fun you can experiment with different styles. I enjoyed using voki.

How I currently use social media.

When I'm online I usually just get on facebook and youtube. I like having a facebook cause I can check out what my friends are up to and pictures they put up. Also youtube is fun cause I can check out videos and entertainment that's not on Tv. If I missed my favorite show its usually on youtube.
